Our Story
Dr Inge Van Boxelaer witnessed firsthand the challenges her team faced when learning to use diabetes technology. Limited access to unbiased educational resources created difficulties for both healthcare providers and patients.
This struggle sparked an idea: create a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing independent, peer-reviewed diabetes technology education. If her own team faced these hurdles, countless others must be experiencing them too.
Founded as a nonprofit, Diabetotech ensures that all educational content is driven by patient needs and clinical evidence, not commercial interests. Our mission remains unchanged: making high-quality diabetes technology education accessible to all.

Founder & Endocrinologist
Endocrinologist with 10 years of experience at AZ St-Lucas Gent in Belgium, specializes in diabetes technology and is the chairman of the Belgian Society of Endocrino-Diabetologists. Founded Diabetotech as a nonprofit to eliminate commercial bias in diabetes education.
Dr. Henk-Jan Aanstoot
Pediatric Diabetologist
Pediatrician-diabetologist and founder of Diabeter, an independent treatment center focused on type 1 diabetes treatment in the Netherlands. Passionate advocate for accessible diabetes technology education.
