About Diabetotech

Empowering Healthcare Professionals in Diabetes Technology

Our Mission

At Diabetotech, we believe that up-to-date, accessible education can transform diabetes care.
Our mission is simple: to equip healthcare professionals with practical, evidence-based knowledge on diabetes technologies—helping them deliver safer, smarter, and more personalized care to people with diabetes.

Our Story

Dr Inge Van Boxelaer witnessed firsthand the challenges her team faced when learning to use Medtronic Pumps and the MiniMed 670G system. Limited access to demos and educational resources created difficulties. The firm could only offer in-person training after a purchase decision, which was inconvenient and often rescheduled due to the pandemic.

This struggle sparked an idea. If her own team faced these hurdles, countless others must be experiencing them too. Inge envisioned a better way to educate healthcare providers and patients about this life-changing technology. Time and cost-efficiency were paramount.

The solution? Online courses.

Inge meticulously researched all available information, personally wore the pumps and sensors, and documented every step of the process through clear and informative videos. The online courses empowered her team with confidence and provided patients with a valuable reference tool.

Inge's dedication didn't stop there. After two years of creating courses for various AID systems, she embarked on a new mission. Partnering with her team, they completely revamped the courses, structuring them within a multilingual platform. This broadened accessibility, ensuring even more people could benefit from this independent form of diabetes technology education.

Inge's story is a testament to the transformative power of knowledge and the drive to make a difference. Through her online courses, she empowers healthcare providers and patients around the world to manage diabetes more effectively.

Recognition of Excellence in Medical Education

In 2023, Diabetotech's contributions to continuing medical education activities for medical specialists have been acknowledged and endorsed. This accolade underscores our dedication to empowering healthcare professionals with knowledge that matters.

We work with trusted accreditation bodies including:

Our flagship initiative, the Diabetes Technology Expert Program, proudly holds accreditation from the Belgian National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance. Known by its Dutch acronym RIZIV and its French counterpart INAMI, this accreditation solidifies the program's alignment with the highest standards of education.

Diabetes Technology Expert Program holds an  accreditation from  V&VN - the largest professional association for nurses, caregivers and nursing specialists in the Netherlands. Having accreditation from V&VN can be a valuable indicator of the program's credibility and alignment with professional standards in the healthcare and nursing sector.

Additionally, we're excited to announce that the Diabetes Technology Expert Program has been submitted for accreditation by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME). This move demonstrates our commitment to elevating our educational offerings to an international level. In a world where medical expertise transcends borders, a partnership with the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) and the American Medical Association (AMA) presents an exceptional opportunity. EACCME credits can seamlessly be converted into an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

All courses are eligible for continuing education credits where applicable.
